Smartphone myths that you believed to be true

We all use smartphones, some heavy users and some minimal; but one thing that fools us all is the set of myths that we don’t know who created! We are all careful about our phones so when we get to know a ‘preventive’ measure, we jump into it without putting much thought. These myths have directed us long enough. Now it’s time to bust those common myths:

Higher specs mean better performance: It is not always true. I have seen phones which are not high on specs but are amazing performance machines. Higher specs should be complimented by many other aspects and if not, higher specs often leads to lags.

Higher megapixel means better image quality: Well, not true! It totally depends upon the lens not the megapixel on how the images will come out. Anyone who has the slightest idea of the functioning of a modern camera will tell you this.

Charging devices overnight damages the battery: This was true when manufacturers used NiCAD and NiMH batteries. The modern batteries are lithium-ion batteries, which will last longer if you keep them charged.

Automatic brightness saves battery: This is a very common misunderstanding. The automatic display brightness has nothing to do with your battery saving. You may think that this component helps you save battery, but if you truly want to save battery, dim the screen manually.

Wi-Fi/Bluetooth drain your battery: Older days, this was a legit belief; but not anymore. New age devices use little-to-no power while not in active use.

You should only use the charger that came with the phone: Another common myth. I don’t know who spread it! Guys, it is not right; you can use any decent charger to charge your phone.

Close background apps to boost performance: There are rare occasions where this is true but like I said, RARE. Modern devices are very advanced and they don’t allow the background apps to use much of the phone’s resources at all.

The Guardian terms Honor 10 the best phone in its category and price slab

Honor 10 is a device that has changed the game not only for Honor but also for the smartphone industry as a whole. Honor is under the pressure of bettering its own standards in the future and the competitors are feeling the heat like never before. The device is going strong globally and is promising better things in the future. The fact that this is a midrange device with specs, features and performance of a high end counterpart has given Honor 10 the edge over the rest. Testimony to this is the recent review of media giant The Guardian which gives Honor 10 an all-star rating.

The renowned publication on its online portal did a detailed and categorical review of the device and gave a clinical look at it. The unbiased review is going to help a lot many people who are sceptics as of now. Here goes the final verdict by The Guardian:

“The Honor 10 is another example of an excellent smartphone that comes very close to matching the latest top-of-the-range phones, but costs significantly less. On the whole Huawei has cut the right corners to make the Honor 10 shine against the competition.

Of course it isn’t perfect, and lacks wireless charging and water resistance. But it has many redeeming features, feeling every bit as good in the hand as a phone costing twice as much. The screen is good, the camera (if you turn off the AI mode) is good, performance and battery life are good, and it even still has a headphone socket.

The Honor 10 is so good I’m not quite sure why you would buy Huawei’s other 5.8in phone with a notch, the P20, that costs another £179, which means Huawei is competing with itself. Compared to rivals, you have to spend another £69 to find a better phone in the OnePlus 6, meaning the Honor 10 is arguably the best phone you can get right now for £400.”

This is another feather to the decorated hat of Honor 10.

Reasons why you should buy the Honor 7A

Honor 7A has been a revolutionary product from the house of Huawei powered Honor. This is a budget smartphone that ticks all the boxes and a few more! There is a reason why this device has been one of the best-selling products from Honor. When I say ‘budget’ don’t think that this is your stereotyped budget device that only comes with basic specs and features. Let’s check out the top reasons why you should totally buy this phone:

Let’s admit it, these are the times of dual cameras and Honor 7A understands it like anything. That’s the reason why they have incorporated dual camera setup in a handset which costs less than 10,000 INR. The primary dual camera of this device is a 13MP+2MP setup. The depth detection of Honor 7A is amazing which results into beautiful hardware level bokeh effect. Take a portrait shot and you will understand the effect.

I have experienced Honor 7A and I can say that this phone is hands down faster than any other phones in its category. So what makes Honor 7A such a fast device? Well, the answer is Android 8.0. The updated OS in Honor 7A ensures that the phone boots up fast and saves you some time. This also contributes to make the phone safer than before. You will also notice that the apps will open faster and cut down operating time. Android 8.0 also helps preserve battery life by limiting background apps. Not to miss out on, this advanced phone also ensures multi-tasking by enabling you to operate on different windows without closing any of them.

Selfies are no more a necessity now when you had no one to click your photo; they are rather a lifestyle statement. With the passage of time, we have seen smartphones working on their front shooter and Honor 7A ups the game here. It comes with an 8MP front camera. Higher megapixel means clearer images and no pixilation in case of zooming. Honor 7A’s front camera is ideal for clear selfies and better colour.

First up let’s re-establish the fact that Honor 7A comes in a price under 10,000 INR and this is the real catch when I am going to discuss the next feature. Honor 7A comes with Face Unlock which is going to up the game for its competitors. There are occasions when your hands are busy or are wet and you have to unlock your phone. Face unlock comes handy in those situations. Moreover, it is such a good feeling that you can unlock your phone with just a glance. You feel a connect between you and your device! This also ensures safety for your phone. Face unlock means no one can unlock your phone even if they manage to sneak out the PIN and pattern!

Then I have to mention the dedicated SIM card and SD card slots which give the user the liberty to choose between two SIM cards simultaneously. It also enables you to expand the phone memory through a SD card slot. Then there is the Ride Mode which makes your rides safe and hassle-free. Turn it on and focus on the road. If you are a music lover, this is the phone you should go for as its speakers are amazingly clear and louder. Honor 7A’s speakers are capable of producing higher sound levels which range up to 87 decibels.
