HONOR 9N vs Redmi Y3: A lopsided battle

The Amazon Sale is on and an impressive range of smartphones are on sale! A host of smartphone brands are offering amazing deals on their products. While I was surfing through the website, I came across that HONOR has put up HONOR 9N at just 9,999! This caught my attention as it was way lower than its original price. For moment I thought it was a mistake! But it wasn’t!

HONOR 9N has been around for some time now, but is it still relevant? Well, it is very much relevant and if you search products in this price range (10K), HONOR 9N is in fact ahead of many of the newer devices like the recently launched Redmi Y3. And I am not kidding! Priced at the same 9,999 INR (which is 9N’s new price), both the devices are evenly placed for a face-off.

To help you understand this, here is my analysis after the HONOR 9N vs Redmi Y3 battle:

Let’s start with the make and built of both the devices. HONOR 9N comes with a sleek glass design. It lends the phone a premium look and adds zing to your personality. Redmi Y3, on the other hand, comes with a plastic body which looks little below standard in today’s time.

Another thing closely associated with the body is the thickness of a smartphone. HONOR 9N is just 7.7mm thick; whereas Redmi Y3 is little thicker at 8.4mm. That 0.7mm may seem to be not much of a difference but in a smartphone, it means a lot.

With a FHD+ display, HONOR 9N topples Redmi Y3 which comes with HD+ display. The full HD display renders a seamless viewing experience.   

HONOR 9N’s uses its own Kirin 659 processor which is tad better than Redmi Y3’s Snapdragon 632. The processor is something you can’t ignore!

The camera battle is a close one, at least on paper. HONOR 9N flaunts a 13+2MP dual camera setup as compared to Redmi Y3’s 12+2MP setup. As you can see, both the devices are just 1MP apart but I have used both before sitting to write this. HONOR 9N’s camera is way better when it comes to the final output.

On the RAM/ROM battle also HONOR 9N wins it against Redmi Y3. HONOR 9N is equipped with 4/64GB storage; whereas Redmi Y3 comes with 3+32GB storage.

Winner: HONOR 9N

This is very interesting; it seems that HONOR 9N was launched way before its time! It is still winning the battle against newer devices.
